Description

Do you feel a bit like Sherlock Holmes? Want to solve a mystery? How about the need to find a gremlin under the hood? If you answered "Yes", this car might be for you! This 2010 beauty has been well-loved by our family for the past 6 years. It's hauled the kids in their car seats and all of their stuff to many destinations, playdates, parks, the summer cottage, the ski hill, etc. It was really reasonably well maintained during our ownership, with continuous maintenance, oil changes, regular service, etc. Over the past 2-3 the check engine light has appeared, then disappeared, then appeared, then...you get my drift (but seriously, don't try to drift in this car...) If I recall correctly, it's a lean engine code. A few attempts at fixing the code has made it disappear for a while, but it magically comes back...then disappears for a short period of time randomly. The car has been known to stall - but it usually starts right back up. The stalling is very intermittent, and it usually occurs when the car is "cold" and hasn't had a chance to warm up (summer and winter). When the check engine light is on, the dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree. The traction control light, the cruise control light and the emergency brake light aluminate...don't worry, the e-brake doesn't engage. But the cruise control does stop working. The current MVI is good until January 2021. I have been told by a mechanic that a new MVI would require the exhaust leak to be repaired and the rust on the left-side rear quarter panel to be repaired. Aside from the full disclosure above, and any dings, dents, rust, etc. that are evident from the photos and what you might come to expect from a 10-year old car, the car is in pretty decent shape. All of the electronics work (power mirrors, door locks, heated front seats, defrost mirrors and back windshield, power drivers-side seat adjust etc.), as does the AC. It doesn't burn any oil either. 2 of the all-season tires have lots of tread life (>75% left). The other two are near the "replace me" mark, but depending on how much you drive, you could probably squeeze out another summer or possibly two with them. The car comes with 4 Toyo winter tires mounted on steel rims. Thread life is around 60% or better. It also comes with Max Liner floor mats from the front and back seats, the carpet floor mats for all footwells and, a Subaru branded, rubber "tray" cargo liner. I also have two sets of keys. I have kept most service records and receipts for this car and would be happy to share as much information about it as possible. It will come with a full tank of gas.
