The exterior is maintenance free with board and batten metal siding and a sleek black metal roof that is traditional yet modern. Walking into the great room, the area is flooded with natural light with ample windows and a cathedral ceiling. The ceiling and end walls are covered in whitewashed nickel-gap pine that we had custom milled right here in Nova Scotia. Both long walls have custom wall treatments with a traditional picture rail atop the vertical wall panels and painted in a lovely neutral Benjamin Moore finish. The kitchen will boast a 6 foot countertop with farmhouse sink and custom built cabinetry. Open shelves above the coutertop lend an airy feel to the kitchen space while a full height pantry cabinet and full height refrigerator cabinet add ample additional storage space in this quality built kitchen. A chandelier overhead casts a warm glow while recessed lighting makes the space feel sleek and bright. A 4 foot bar counter, placed under a 4 foot window area, is a statement piece, built from a custom milled raw-edge slab of 3" Nova Scotia poplar. The living area has large windows on 2 sides and at 6x9 feet there is plenty of space for cozy furniture and is wired for wall mount TV, and has dimmable recessed lighting. Above the living area is a storage loft with recessed lighting and accessed by a ships ladder that tucks neatly out of the way when not in use. Through the kitchen, a solid wood door on barn door track adds character as you access the surprisingly generous sized bathroom. No cramped shower stall here, this bathroom has a standard sized tub, vintage dresser vanity with vessel sink, and space for full sized washer and dryer. Above the well-lit laundry area are 2 large pull out drawers and 2 ample sized cabinets, providing storage for all your necessities and your little luxuries too. The stairs have storage beneath the treads and lead to another unique feature...a lowered hallway allows you to stand full height next to the queen sized bed platform. The large egress window makes this sleeping area feel bright and not the least bit closed in.
