THE NOT SO BIG HOUSE An alternative to bigger is better A home thats so much more than square footage Its a home that will nurture your spirit without breaking your bank Meticulously maintained: It was built in the 30s when materials still had substance and quality construction was the order of the day No chip board here. 3/4 inch fir subfloor with 3/4 inch fir hardwood making the floors a solid 1 1/2 inches thick! Newer windows and roof on both house and garage. A sturdy garage 32x14 with an automatic garage door. Shelving runs on the inside on either side an attached lean to 8x20 was built on the outside A guest room is built at the back of the garage with a private treed enclave outside its door. Yes the kitchen is small, but has proved more than functional for us and we do a lot of entertaining. And no there is no dishwasher, weve never needed one. But if you did, you could always build one in or get a portable. We often take ourselves and company in and around the 1/3 of an acre of sprawling forest, gardens and park like lawns setting up tables and chairs to eat and visit. The yard is such that we can change up the view to suit our mood There is a large vegetable garden at the back of the property A 2ft wire fence with two small gates enclose most of the back yard. The kiddies and smaller pets can run and play, no worries Down Stairs: Freezer, Washer Dryer, Small Sink Semi finished with a cold room at the far back. The street is quiet – 2-3 dozen vehicles on weekdays and less on the weekends. The property is quite private with a 6 foot fence at the rear, lots of foliage on the west side and some mature fir trees and wooden fencing on the right. Both neighbours are quiet. Both their yards are always neat and cared for. This is not a dying or sliding town: lots going on here, we have our own adult hockey and baseball teams! We are an hour and 15 min from Regina and Costco A few minutes walk to the left and a few blocks down are the– hockey arena and swimming pool, pickleball courts, baseball fields and golf course. A two minute walk to the right is the medical centre. Five minutes takes you to the grocery store, pharmacy, bank, restaurants, library, post office and garage. ( They will fix your car for a fraction of what youd pay in Regina) Another two minutes gets you to the hardware and liquor stores. Beyond this are the lumber yard and various repair shops. This house has served us well and has been unabashedly comfortable
